Townsite Jazz Festival 2023 – Tickets on sale now

Join us April 13–15 in Powell River’s Historic Townsite district for our fifth-anniversary festival!

Highlights include:

  • More daytime and afternoon performances than ever before
  • Jazz & Charcuterie, a new fundraiser for the Brooks Music Program
  • An alumni jazz choir featuring past Brooks & Max Cameron students

Everyone’s favourite big band, the Bruce James Orchestra, will be returning for two concerts including our Gala Dance. We’re thrilled to be featuring several more past performers, including B3 organist Dr. Tony Genge, bassist Jodi Proznick, multi-instrumentalist John Lee and hometown hero Walter Martella, in all-new configurations. Acclaimed Toronto vocalist Heather Bambrick will perform in the qathet region for the very first time, and Brazillian guitarist, percussionist and vocalist Celso Machado will make his TJF debut.

Our smallest venues have just 70 seats, so tickets aren’t going to last long…

Get those tickets fast – they won’t last long!

Venues

Powell River’s Historic Townsite district is a remarkable gem. The remnants of 1910 city planning are everywhere with plenty of storied venues eager to play host to an unbeatable lineup of musical talent. Jazz is a genre where rules are meant to be broken, and this quirky Arts and Crafts-style neighbourhood mirrors our eclectic programming in a multitude of ways.

Best of all, most of our venues are within comfortable walking distance from one another. (Don’t believe us? Check out this map from our friends at Townsite Heritage Society!)

Sponsors

Townsite Jazz Festival wouldn’t be possible without a long list of local organizations, businesses, volunteers and donors. We gratefully acknowledge the support of our presenting sponsor, Pacific Coastal Airlines.
